Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welding Fabricator III to join its team.

Education Level

• Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

• 6+ years of direct experience
• Experience welding at least one of – carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum

Duties/Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to refine welding processes and weldment designs.
• Continuous improvement mentality
• Design support and fabrication tooling required for welding and assembly
• Excellent communication skills
• Provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers
• Provide process improvement feedback to process engineers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and industry specifications
• Safely work within an industrial environment
• Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
• Welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to blueprint and industry specifications using manual, semi-automatic or automatic equipment

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to climb ladders, and stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to develop and fabricate fixtures and tooling
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Ability to pass practical weld test in all positions to applicable welding code
• Ability to troubleshoot welds and welding equipment
• Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Self-sufficient with the ability to work within a team environment or independently as required

Desired Qualifications

• AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, D17.1 certification
• Forklift operation
• Knowledge of NDT methods
• Plasma or oxyacetylene cutting experience
• Rigging experience
• Strong background in joint preparation, fit-up, and fabrication
• Understanding of GD&T and Welding Symbols
