Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welding Inspector (Maintenance) who will ensure all mechanical activities meet quality requirements according to drawings, specifications, standards, and codes supported by appropriate testing and inspection records.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, yet a High School Diploma will be a plus

Work Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with welding and fabrication activities
  • Previous experience in a CMMS

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct or coordinate inspections following site procedures
  • Coordinate maintenance PWHT and NDT activities
  • Document non-conformances
  • Ensure activities are supported by appropriate QA documents
  • Ensure all activities are completed following ITP
  • Ensure all drawings have been as built
  • Following ITP, conduct site inspections on Witness, Review & Hold Points
  • Provide final inspection of maintenance work, create a list of outstanding punch list items if required
  • Revise and create QA documentation
  • Support the contractor QA Advisors to conduct periodic audits
  • Support the contractor QA Advisors to implement QMP
  • Undertake visual inspection of welds and weld repair rates
  • Verify correct materials are used before activities are executed

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian and International Standards

Other Qualifications

  • AS1796 or AS2214 Welding Supervisor
  • Cert III Fabrication/Engineering
  • CSWIP 3.1 or IIW IWI B Welding Inspector
