Job Profile

The university is seeking an experienced Welding Instructor who will provide continuing education training to experienced Welders at our new state-of-the-art facility on the North Charleston campus.

These instructors will teach a variety of classes that focus on the shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon-cutting processes.

Educational Qualification

• The applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to pass certification tests in each welding process taught.

Work Experience

• The candidates should have 3 years of recent welding experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Employ instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the learning experience and achieve learning outcomes.
• Evaluate student academic performance using a variety of assessments and techniques.
• Participate in scheduled activities.
• Provide practical hands-on instruction to create an engaging learning environment.
• Stay current in subject matter through professional development.
• Other duties assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels
• Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Experience with Container Repair is a plus
• Teaching/training experience
