Job Profile
The company is searching for a Welding Supervisor who will function as follows-
- Assures the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. Using in-house construction management procedures and experience, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control.
- Responsible for performing field activities related to one area or discipline, monitoring the day-to-day work of contractors/sub-contractors, reporting all potential safety and quality issues, and assisting with cost, progress, and materials reporting. Performs functions for one area of a project or a small project.
- Oversees all aspects of a small area or single discipline of field construction on projects. Generally responsible for construction scope(s) with a value of up to $10M
Education Level
- Typically, minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (Technical Diploma/apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
Work Experience
- An appropriate level of field construction experience is typically gained through a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation, and other project-specific requirements, following client/contract document specifications and under Wood Policies and Procedures
- Coordinates and supervises operational delivery of a small team of site construction personnel, typically of a single discipline, does not have ongoing line management responsibility
- Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal, and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
- Ensure safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
- Initiate safety, quality, and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment, and control of risks following Wood and client requirements
- Management of installation, commissioning, and completion activities for some materials and equipment
- Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline/subset of onsite construction.

- Responsible for construction and contractor-related deliverables
- Responsible for the execution of the work following the quality and safety standards and requirements specified for the project.
- Responsible for the management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of the assigned construction project(s) per the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and under the company’s operating policies and principles.
- Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
- Work requires the consideration of future implications beyond the immediate problem and is not closely supervised, although outputs are subject to managerial review. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed for conformance with policies and general efficiency. The level of discretion is governed by established practices, procedures, and policies.
- Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability.
- The role has a considerable level of influence on medium-term operational outcomes through the operational supervision of others.
