Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welding Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the welding department, including scheduling, training, safety, production planning, and performing quality inspections.

This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Educational Qualification

• CWI Certification (required)
• Formal Training and Certification in Welding or allied trades

Work Experience

• 5 years of metal fabrication experience (preferred)
• 5 years of management experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Change schedule based on needs of customers and field operations
• Consumable inventory is always stocked to maintain daily operation
• Edit Timekeeping software for mistakes
• Ensure each employee is self-assigned to the correct job code
• Ensure each operation is the correct operation based on project requirements
• Ensure Field personnel is assigned to the correct job
• Ensure stock inventory is correct
• Maintain a clean and safe shop
• Manage employee attendance
• Material Procurement
• Organization of working areas, shipping areas, and fabrication areas
• Scheduling Shop Production
• Standard activities include
• Supervision of welding procedures and machine operation
• Timekeeping and attendance
• Verify correct procedures are being used for safe and efficient operation o Follow special orders
• Verify welder setup, clamping procedures, and practical methods for each operation needed to complete the job
• Work and develop relationships with vendors
• Work with machine operators on programming, setup, and operation of each machine.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Ability to read plans and layout work assignments for the shop.

• Ensure equipment in the shop is in proper working conditions and meets all safety requirements.

• Prepare bills of materials for various types of work and obtain materials quotations.
• Proficiency in Windows-based applications
• Requires sitting, climbing, walking, lifting, grasping, crawling, near vision acuity
• Requires standing, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching, speaking, and listening.
