Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welding Team Lead who will support the operations of a metal service center.

Responsible for working with coworkers and the management team to coordinate the productivity, efficiency, and safety of the branch.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • 3-5 years of welding experience (required)
  • Experience leading, delegating, and decision-making
  • Experience inventory management software
  • Experience working in an ISO or quality-regulated environment (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete cycle counts and manage inventory adjustments.
  • Coordinate maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Fabricate orders to customer specifications, including welding, cutting, and preparing orders for shipment
  • Manage and sustain excellent communication and viable relationships with McNichols vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor metrics for quality and performance, making improvements as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Train and mentor up to 2 other teammates
  • Work closely with third-party logistics carriers to provide on-time delivery of McNichols products.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of shop math and design drawings – experience with all types of tools.

Work Environment

  • Balances supervisory duties with occasional hands-on welding tasks
  • May work extended hours to manage schedules and production goals
  • Regular exposure to welding fumes, sparks, and high temperatures
  • Wears full safety gear, including helmets, gloves, and eye protection
  • Works in fabrication shops, construction sites, or industrial plants
