Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welding Team Leader who will help to take the workshop to the next level.
Educational Qualification
- No education level is mentioned, yet having basic education is considered a plus
Work Experience
- Possess previous experience supervising or leading a team
- Experience in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and MMA
Duties/Responsibilities
- Aid in the development of Weld procedures and qualifications
- Collaborate to determine the most optimum approach to execute the work efficiently and effectively, provide support with any troubleshooting complex activities
- Conduct appraisals, incident logs, disciplinary and performance management, absence management, and investigations
- Coordinate tasks, overtime, and holidays for your direct reports
- Coordinate work tasks to employees, ensuring they are fully equipped and versed on the requirements, supervise the work to completion, meeting deadlines and exceeding quality and safety expectations
- Ensure sufficient supplies, tools, and equipment are available for the department
- Liaise with the works manager to ensure all tasks and projects are completed on time
- Proactively promote a positive health and safety culture, leading by example and challenging non-compliance
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support for your direct reports
- Responsible for employee utilisation for optimisation of service delivery
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to prioritise workload and flexible to adapt to changing requirements when needed
- Excellent communication skills to converse with people at all levels and excel at leading a team
- IOSH Health and Safety for supervisors is desirable
- Methodical, with attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages
- Strong background in mechanical engineering, ideally within mechanical rotating and static equipment
