Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welding Technician who will perform orbital welding of tubing and components with a particular expertise in orbital welding operations.

Education Level

  • Not mentioned, a High School Diploma (a plus)

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with progressive welding certifications.
  • Experience with measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, and height gages.

License/Certification

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Correctly process work via required paperwork and the MRP system.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Inspect product and, if non-conforming, process via non-conforming material procedures.
  • Follows manufacturing production schedules.
  • Loads and adjusts machinery programs as required.
  • Manufacture a product that meets quality requirements.
  • Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work
  • Prepares and processes parts in semi-automated orbital weld machinery.
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
  • Troubleshoots process variation.
  • Utilizes manufacturing routers through the MRP system.
  • Verifies correct assembly in manufacturing tooling before and after processing.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints.
  • General understanding of welding processes.

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; or smell.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
