Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a Shop Welder III who will be responsible to perform basic to comprehensive welding repairs and new fabrications while learning and developing technical skills.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
- Possess 1 to 3 years of welding experience (acceptable)
- 3 to 5 years of welding experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
- Assists other Welders
- Examines work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
- Fabricates new components from shop drawings or blueprints
- Maintains all company equipment, tools, and work areas in a good, clean, and working order
- Performs basic and comprehensive arc welding, air arc, gas welding, and cutting
- Performs basic and comprehensive repair welds on equipment and components
- Performs tasks under minimal supervision
- Prepares service reports and any other necessary paperwork
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Works as a member of a team to provide basic technical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals
- Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to be self-starting and self-motivated
- Ability to follow logical troubleshooting procedures
- Ability to follow manufacturer and company installation and service guidelines to ensure quality work
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in fabrication and welding
- Ability to read, write, and understand information
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Broad knowledge of current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Broad knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Excellent work habits, accuracy, attention to detail, and quality of work
- Verbal and written communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Must own tools to perform repairs
Travel
- Up to 10% travel may be required
