Job Profile
The company is looking for a Shop Technician Level II who will perform multiple assignments in support of machining, mechanical assembly, repair, and refurbishment of equipment, components, or tooling systems.
Perform mechanical and visual inspections.
Perform nuclear service functions of a similar nature as directed.
Continue to develop and apply basic skills in at least two of the following nuclear equipment services, or develop and apply basic skills in one of the following plus one of the operating plant product line services: Machinist and Mechanic.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a High School Degree or Equivalent
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of nuclear experience (required)
- 4 years of nuclear experience (preferred)
- Acetylene and plasma torch cutting experience (preferred)
- Familiar with welding in a PAPR weld hood (preferred)
Certifications
- ANSI II Mechanical or Electrical Certifications
Duties/Responsibilities
Standard Training
- Site-specific training, radiation safety, hazard communication, respiratory protection, and rigging
- ANSI II – Mechanical (Machinist) and complete Qualifications as applicable
Safety
- Demonstrate, understand and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health and Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements
- Participation and contribution of observations in the shop
- Acquire, comprehend and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements
Maintenance
- Clean parts by various methods, sharpen hand tools, and organize Supplies
Inspections
- Mechanical inspections include physically measuring the product with measuring and testing equipment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and work to a drawing
- Ability to weld in the 6G position with GMAW, SMAW processes
- Ability to pass 6G weld test, steel, and Inconel
- Able to weld in 3G and 4G position GMAW process
- Operating various equipment
- Assembly of pumps, seals, Auxiliary motors, and Reactor Coolant Pump motors
