Job Profile
The company is searching for a Flatbed Tank/Equipment Hauler (Class A) who will complete heavy equipment transports, primarily in Missouri and surrounding states.
In downtime, this position will assist mechanics in Truck Service as required, refurbishing, servicing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 21 years of age or older
Work Experience
- Possess experience with and ability to use a wide range of automotive repair tools
- Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 120 days of employment and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Ability to pass in-person training and MFA Oil Company’s Record of Road test requiring the operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 120 days of employment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Communicate any issues as they relate to safety or efficiencies to the supervisor for both trucks and equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any truck safety issues immediately to the supervisor.
- Develop and maintain knowledge about all parts, products, and services offered by MFA Oil and an understanding of technical work documents related to Truck Service and products.
- Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
- Keep the supervisor informed of any problems or issues that need attention.
- Maintain truck and equipment in a neat and clean condition.
- Operate vehicle safely, adhering to all safety standards and procedures, according to policies and guidelines set forth by law or by MFA Oil Company.
- Properly use a handheld system to maintain required paperwork and logs of all assigned transports, entering data into the system for accurate tracking.
- Transport heavy equipment and products in a semi, or similar multi-axle vehicle throughout the company’s footprint.
- Use a crane truck to load and unload tanks, trucks, and equipment at locations, maintaining all service standards at all times.
- When not transporting heavy equipment or vehicles, assist in the Truck Service area filling in for mechanics as required. These duties include but are not limited to, servicing and maintaining company equipment, refurbishing truck tanks and service beds, preparing vehicles for tank installation, welding and fabrication work, and troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and equipment.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for up to nine hours per shift.
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission trucks.
- Ability to speak, read, writes, and understands the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to work scheduled overtime and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises by responding to overtime callouts before and after standard scheduled hours of work.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Daily statewide travel is possible with regional and overnight travel as needed, up to 50%.
- Interest and aptitude for truck maintenance.
- Requires contact with hazardous materials, driving, and working in adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
- Must meet DOT and Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background and MVR check, drug test, and road test.
- Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist, and lift/carry 100 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, speech, and ability to detect odors.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
