Job Profile
The company is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer who will take full responsibility for the audit, control, and measurement of Wacker Neuson’s material suppliers globally.
Ensure that the Company receives top-quality products and services at all times by achieving consistent performance throughout the supply chain.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants require a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Quality, or Engineering from a college/university
- CQA Certification (preferred)
- ISO/QS/IATF Quality systems audit experience (required)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering and supplier development in a manufacturing environment (required)
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
Supplier Development-
- Coordinates on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and performs verification of corrective action plans and process controls.
- Monitors supplier quality processes and methods.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives for Quality, Cost, Delivery, etc.
Supplier Quality-
- Approves pilot production and series production at the supplier’s location.
- Executes supplier audits and process acceptances.
- Monitors the production/quality planning at the suppliers’ location.
Metrics-
- Derives proactive and reactive measures to further develop the product as it relates to process maturity level.
New Product Introduction-
- Works with the Design Engineering team and Purchasing team to facilitate supplier selection, PPAP, and successful start of production for components.
- Works with suppliers to ensure the product meets drawing requirements and product specifications.
Problem-Solving/Quality Improvements-
- Collaborates with suppliers in problem-solving and suggests methods for improving product quality.
- Critical thinker with the ability to identify risks in the manufacturing process and drive to mitigate those risks.
Safety-
- Performs all job functions in a safe manner and maintains safety awareness.
- Reports of known accidents, injuries, and unsafe practices or conditions to the supervisor.
Training-
- Trains all levels of personnel on new quality concepts.
- Works with suppliers to understand Wacker Neuson customer requirements.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- The ability to think strategically and with an entrepreneurial mindset is necessary in order to negotiate with assertiveness.
- Driven with the ability to deal with ambiguity and an outstanding attitude.
- Proficient computer skills including Access, Word, and Excel
- SAP is preferred
- Working knowledge of quality tools such as Advanced Quality Planning, Control Plans, D/PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, talk or hear
- Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. (assisted)
- Must be able to work under hot or cool and sometimes loud conditions, hearing protection may be required
- 25% – 35% domestic and international travel – Mexico, Brazil, Austria, Germany, and Canada.
