Job Profile

The company is hiring a Welder who will primarily perform the welding of Industrial Gas Turbine Components for the purpose of manufacture and repair in the Repair Process Department with minimal supervision according to manufacturing and customer requirements.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must have successfully completed a certified welding curriculum resulting in a Vocational Diploma (School/College)

Work Experience

  • Must have 2 years minimum experience equivalent in Gas tungsten arc welding (TIG)
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in one of the following welding processes
    -Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG)
    -Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG)
    -Shielded Metal Arc Welding (ARC)
    -Gas Metal Arc Welding
  • Must complete certification in qualification tests as dictated by welding process applications
  • Must pass practical weld test using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) application

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Welding repair of industrial gas turbine components
  • Read and interpret travelers/documents to gather work instructions
  • Must be able to properly set up welding station and machinery to perform welding
  • Prep and polish areas requiring weld
  • Select proper weld wire in accordance with product specifications
  • Weld in accordance with manufacturing specifications
  • Belt sand/blend production components
  • Perform in-process inspection of parts
  • Able to remove excess weld and braze and grit blast
  • Perform repair welding and blending of gas turbine components-
    -Perform structural repairs of Stationary Vane Shrouds
    -Inner Shroud Repairs both Gas and Non-Gas Path Sides
    -Outer Shroud Repairs both Gas and Non-Gas Path Sides

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to perform math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Requires the simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, or diagrams
  • Must demonstrate the ability to set up and operate related welding equipment to perform any or all of the specified welding applications

Competency Expectations-

  • It is expected to take 6 months maximum to become proficient in all the job responsibilities
