Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Lead Quality Control Inspector who will provide support and guidance regarding the implementation, administration, maintenance, monitoring, and enforcement of A&B’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Be responsible for communicating, and assisting with daily on-site-specific QC-related activities for the project.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should be CWB Level 2 Inspector (CSA W178.2) certified in CSA Z662 or ASME B31.3
- NACE CIP 2 Inspector
Work Experience
- Possess 8 years of project-related experience in pipeline construction
Duties/Responsibilities
- Conduct daily quality inspections of contracted third parties.
- Daily monitoring and reporting of site-specific QC-related tasks.
- Ensure all Coating reports are reviewed and filed in the QC Project Turnover Package.
- Ensure all Quality Control documentation is compiled and completed in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all welding parameters are verified and filed daily. Welding activities may include welder qualification, production, and repair welding.
- Ensure daily NDE reports are reviewed and filed in the QC Project Turnover Package.
- Ensure Pressure testing documentation is completed and filed in the QC Project Turnover Package.
- Provide guidance and support to construction personnel to verify construction activities comply with project requirements.
- Receive and inspect materials, review material test reports (MTRs) ensure compliance with the latest codes, standards, and client specifications, and assure the material management process is followed.
- Report all non-conforming conditions in accordance with the QMS NCR process.
- Review IFC Project Drawings confirming the latest revisions, P&IDs, line lists specifications, etc.
- Verify all testing equipment is calibrated; the certificate of calibration is reviewed for accuracy and filed in the QC Project Turnover Package.
- Weld mapping to ensure proper traceability.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to develop and manage excel spreadsheets, word documents, and have good organizational skills
- Able to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Have excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and good written and oral communication skills
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Valid driver’s license
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
