Job Profile
The company is seeking a Structural Engineer who will perform a wide range of engineering and project tasks for various projects including design and engineering plans for suspended platforms, aluminum truss systems, repair plans for piping and structural systems, 3D project plans, and project management.
Also, assist in Engineering reviews, analyze data, and delivers conclusions through a written report.
The role ensures work is managed within budget, meets client requirements, and is completed within designated timelines.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a University Degree in Structural Engineering
- Membership in a provincial Association for professional engineers (required)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience
Duties/Responsibilities
Technical Projects Participation-
- Acting as project leader and collaborating with other internal resources for support when required.
- Carrying out a range of engineering and project tasks for various client projects at all project phases.
- Communicating with clients to plan, schedule, and execute site work.
- Ensuring efficient use of resources and delivery of results.
- Providing support to projects such as document preparation, creation of estimates and inspection scopes, specifications, budgetary oversight, and reporting.
Provide Support/Engineering Expertise to Clients-
- Continually striving for process improvements including creating comprehensive reports aligned to client needs, identifying solutions to issues, and developing recommendations for implementation.
- Identifying additional services and products and new technologies to meet ongoing client needs.
- Meeting with customers to discuss report findings, recommendations, and conclusions.
- Understanding customer requirements and needs to ensure expectations are met.
Conduct Engineering Work-
- Analysis and design of various structures such as tanks, piping systems, pressure vessels, structural members, etc.
- Assuring compliance with project schedule and costs
- Delivering conceptual and detailed structural designs based on project specifications and engineering inputs following the applicable standards, and codes
- Design Remote Access Solutions for proprietary suspended platform and Truss systems including anchor selection and loading assessments.
- Performing Finite element analysis of various equipment and structures
- Performing fitness for service assessments on pressure equipment as per API-579 and ASME FFS-1
- Producing detailed procedures for rigging, lifting equipment, and other complex access solutions
- Work within a 3d Point Cloud CAD environment to develop workflows, project plans, and simulations of remote work platforms and structural repairs of vessels, piping systems, etc.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to manage large amounts of data effectively.
- Ability to resolve issues and problems that are not clearly defined.
- Ability to translate knowledge into practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively respond to different levels of understanding, and produce professional reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs and driver’s license, Class 5 (clean record) required.
- Proficiency with Auto CAD, Navis Works, and other relevant design software for working in a 3D environment.
Possess Understanding in Areas-
- Awareness of industrial codes and standards related to materials, welding, tanks, and pressure equipment.
- Engineering theories, principles, and practices.
- Experience with laser scanning, photogrammetry point, and various 3D software.
- Project management processes.
