Job Profile
The company is searching for a Manufacturing Representative who can act in a “Subject Matter Expert” role within the areas of expertise in the outfitting trade. This effort would be in support of Columbia Class Decks outfitting utilizing an Embedded Team located in Mobile, Alabama.
Mentor and oversee the work content, means, and methods of fabrication/outfitting, utilizing supplier personnel as embedded EB employees.
Provide guidance for the group’s Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement.
Assist the EB supervisor in ensuring good work practices, maintaining EB culture, assisting with process improvements, and ensuring assigned supplier personnel conform to all regulatory/EB requirements.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
- Must have 2+ years of experience in at least one of these areas – electrical, sheet metal, machinist, pipefitting
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist EB supervisor in technical work execution, quality, cost, schedule, continuous improvement, and lessons learned
- EB Manufacturing Rep is to gain the trust and collaboration of the supplier’s embedded personnel
- EB Manufacturing Rep is to monitor and identify any behavioral issues and refer them to the EB supervisor for resolution
- EB Manufacturing Rep will be responsible for the transfer of knowledge to supplier personnel
- EB Manufacturing Rep will ensure EB practices, means, and methods are taught and employed during the performance of the work and will be active in guiding and mentoring supplier personnel
- EB Manufacturing Rep will ensure that Safety and Quality are a top priority. Ensure all QA functions, such as NDT, are performed by EB-authorized personnel or properly trained embedded supplier personnel
- EB Manufacturing Rep will train, coach, mentor, and oversee Electronic Record Signatures within ERS for completion of Fit-up, Welding, VT, and other functions
- Ensure embedded employees know how to perform assigned work within set expectations and raise awareness of knowledge gaps requiring further training
- Manufacturing Rep will be permanently located in Alabama supporting Focus Factory (work to EB paper) programs at an EB supplier facility
- Manufacturing Rep will be responsible for interfacing with Focus Factory EB and supplier personnel and acting as “one” TEAM
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with co-workers and supervisors
- Must have the ability to provide technical expertise, instruct, mentor, and motivate crew
- Must possess an energetic, positive attitude and be willing to change, develop and adapt as the requirements of assigned tasks dictate
- Provide training and mentoring to the embedded supplier operations supervisor. Utilize EB standards for monitoring work performed and ensure all necessary materials, supplies, tools, work orders, and documentation is available
- Successful applicants will be placed on a select shift based on business necessity
- Travel may be required to other Focus Factory locations
Preferred Qualifications
- Able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher, if needed
- Good organizational, presentation, and communication skills
- Navy/Military experience
- Vocational, Technical, and Community Colleges or Apprentice Programs
- VT 3.10 & 3.11 (MDD-00948) qualification, or have the ability and knowledge to obtain a qualification
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to interact with various levels of subcontractors and EB employees in the organizations
- Good organizational, presentation, and communication skills
- Must be available to work all shifts, split shifts, including extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate
- Must possess strong PC skills
- Proficiency in a blueprint, diagram, and drawing interpretation
Physical Demands
- Climbing, color vision, crawling, kneeling, light lifting, medium lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, and twisting
Work Environment
- Acids or alkalis, cold, dry, dusty, fumes, hot, inside, noise, oily, outside, and wet
