Job Profile
The company is seeking a Welding Material Handler who will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high-energy warehouse environment providing all material to production departments for manufacturing the best rail vehicles in the world.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Education or GED
Work Experience
- Possess 2 years of previous experience in a warehouse environment
Duties/Responsibilities
- Specific areas or responsibilities may include receiving, putting away, picking, kitting, or delivery of material to production.
- Ensure transactional accuracy for all material movements – i.e. ensure the correct quantity of material is moved to the specified location, and MRP system transactions are completed correctly.
- Ensure all material is properly identified with appropriate labels and part numbers.
- Carefully handle material to prevent any damage during handling in the warehouse or delivery to production.
- Immediately notify the supervisor of any quality or delivery issues
- Use of powered industrial vehicles in the movement of material. Certification for use of some tools and equipment may be required, such as cranes, forklifts, order pickers, scissor lifts, and fall protection equipment.
- Meet production schedules for material delivery to production.
- Explain warehouse procedures and processes to fellow workers.
- Follow all safety requirements, including the use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Contribute to and maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Credible Qualifications
- Previous Powered Industrial Vehicle certification
- Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
Work Environment
- Training and certification for use of powered industrial vehicles will be provided.
- Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Frequently lift and move no more than 40 pounds.
- Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
