Job Profile
The company is searching for a Welder who will carry out repairs, prefabrication work, and preventative maintenance and repair assessment. The responsibilities encompass the entire plant site.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (English speaking, reading, and writing skills at the high school level)
Work Experience
- Be a Certified Welder (4 Position) with a minimum of 1 year of experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with non-welding duties such as mechanical repairs
- Check in with the supervisor and obtain directives at the start of a shift and upon completion of a job.
- Ensure that all guards are in place in the immediate work area and replaced upon completion of a job.
- Ensure the work area is clean and tidy and the inventory storage area is organized
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions or practices. (Accidents, injuries, near misses, disputes, concerns, or other circumstances)
- Inspect equipment for damage or leaks and report accordingly.
- Know and understand and follow procedures for welders.
- Know, understand and follow plant lockout procedures
- Maintain welding supply inventories (inform supervision of depleted inventory).
- Make sure the work area is safe and free of debris.
- Operate under the direction of plant supervision.
- Perform repairs to structural and non-structural equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring all tools and parts that you use to get put away.
- Responsible for reporting any dust emissions as well as all fluid spills or leaks.
- Required to maintain in good standing any welding or trade certificates
- Must fill out a timesheet at the end of your shift with work orders, unit numbers, job performed and time it took and must be clearly written on the sheet
