Job Profile

The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician II who will mitigate and manage production maintenance calls to eliminate or reduce downtime.

Performs maintenance on 480v, 240v, 120v, and 24v, bending conduit, and rewiring PLC Cabinets.

Manages the tooling pm area and process.

Clean, inspect, store, and stage tooling for production cells.

Support preventive maintenance initiatives, including, but not limited to, Robovents, Fans, Make-up Units, Scrubbing, Painting, FRLs, etc.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience

  • Possess Journeyman or 5 years of high-voltage electrical experience (highly desired)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (preferred)
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicate tooling damage/wear issues to Maintenance Supervisor for resolution.
  • Diagnose bad motors, short cords, and damaged light curtains.
  • Diagnose issues with Allen Bradley PLCs. Ability to read electrical diagrams to help solve electrical problems.
  • Perform Cleaning of Big Fans, Air Make-Up Filters, Wall Fans, and other air management equipment.
  • Perform job duties per company policies, procedures, and work instructions pertaining to ISO 14001 and Tenneco Safety requirements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor mechanical maintenance of all equipment as required.
  • Repairing or replacing cylinders, cord sets, sensors, air hoses, gas lines, relays, fuses, etc.
  • Repairing weld leads, etchers, cylinders, Band-IT guns, etc.
  • Support facilities maintenance activity: i.e., painting, plumbing, scrubbing, snow removal, etc.
  • Utilize SAP to close work orders and preventive maintenance orders.
  • Work with outside resources (contractors) to complete tasks or assignments.
  • Other duties are assigned as required.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate with machine operators, team leaders, line leaders, engineering, maintenance, quality, etc.
  • Ability to effectively plan and sequence work.
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to maintain licensing for fork truck/scrubber and overhead aerial equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with other employees.
  • Ability to work on own without direct supervision, but able to respond to directions and job assignments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions in English.
  • Shall learn and use SAP to close work orders and, as necessary, input IW21 Notifications.
  • Shall show evidence of effective problem-solving skills and time management skills.

  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Operating Products, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., plus experience with SAP would be a benefit.

Work Environment

  • Possible skin exposure to Weld Dust, Paints, Chemicals, Cleaners, and other industrial fluids, all registered in the on-site MSDS.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Will be exposed to Weld Dust which contains CrIII and trace elements of CrVI, while being provided Tyvek full suit, N95/N100 Compliant Full Face Respirator, and other PPE.
  • Will be working in cramped environments, such as the inside cabinets of Robovents.
  • Will be working in lifts and expected to have no issues working over equipment near the ceiling and at elevations.
  • Will be working with various types of paints, Alkyd, Enamel, Acrylic, Urethane, Epoxy, and others, as necessary.

  • May encounter extreme heat, fumes, odors, dirt, dust, noise, and moving objects.
  • Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to properly use basic hand tools such as wrenches, sockets, hammers, screwdrivers, grinders, mill, lathe, etc.
  • Shall be in environments that sometimes are over 100° F or below freezing.
  • Shall perform significant tasks overhead, extending the arms above shoulder height.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to stand in place for long periods and uses dexterity of hands to handle and feel materials.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, and may occasionally lift or move more weight with the safety assistance of another employee.

Travel

  • On infrequent occasions, the manager may assign a short trip to travel by automobile or commercial carrier to attend meetings, training, conferences, customer visits, or other plants.
