Job Profile

The company is seeking a Machinist A (CNC DMG 5 Axis) who will operate specialized machinery to perform the operation of metalworking components to specific processes and prints, requiring close tolerances.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent (concentration in machining would be a plus)

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience (required)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison with other departments, units, or organizations.
• Adjust machining parameters to achieve properly documented first pieces and inspect work in progress so that all parts conform to drawing specifications, taking appropriate action if defective parts are found.
• Construct components and parts to extremely tight tolerances.
• Operate and understand advanced machine tools (i.e. CNC).
• Perform setups requiring tight tolerances independently. Determine proper operation sequence, select and set tools in the cutting head assist programmers to optimize the manufacturing of all parts.
• Plan and perform rough and finish machining on a variety of machines both CNC and manual.
• Provide guidance and direction to employees in the resolution of complex problems.
• Record labor times and other related data on standard forms
• Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be able to read Blueprints/Geometric tolerances.
• Experience and knowledge required for advanced machine tools (i.e. CNC).
• Instrumentation/Gaging skills required. Must be familiar with machinist tools and hand tools (micrometers, verniers, indicators, scales, and dial bore gauges).
• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be a team player, flexible, and self-directed/self-motivated, and possess a positive attitude.
• Must be skilled at problem-solving, thinking outside the box, and acceptance of change and innovation. Must be open to coaching and training with a willingness to learn all machines/cells.
• Some physical effort (avg. 25 lbs).
• US Citizenship is required for DOD requirements.
