Job Profile

The company is seeking a Tool and Cutter Grinder to join its team for a machine shop.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have an Associate Degree (AA) in Precision Machining from a two-year college or technical school (highly preferred)

Work Experience

• Possess 2 years of experience with operation, programming, and setup of an ANCA grinder (TX7 or similar) or similar CNC grinder type
• 2 years experience with manufacturing tools and parts to drawing and quality standards

Additional experience-

• Maintenance of machines experience; preventative maintenance
• Experience operating programming Tru tech grinders (centerless grinder) is a plus

Duties/Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates surface grinding machines with a horizontal or vertical spindle and reciprocating or rotating table to grind flat or contoured surfaces of metal work pieces usually for limited runs, analyzing specifications and selecting tooling according to the knowledge of surface grinding procedures.
• Studies drawing or layout on the workpiece to visualize grinding to be done to plan the sequence of operations.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Set up and run any manual grinding equipment.
• Must be fluent in manual cutter grinders, surface grinders, and ID/OD grinders.
• Must have experience in geometries, clearance angles, and tolerances required to make and troubleshoot cutting tools including drills, step drills, reamers, ID boring tools, end mills, and insert-able, custom tooling.
• Requires own machining tools; including micrometer, indicator, and standard grinding tools
• Must be self-motivated, project-driven, and work well in a team environment
