Job Profile

The company is searching for a Manual Lathe Operator who will perform the task of machining parts per the drawing requirements.

Educational Qualification

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience or training
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with close tolerance practices of +/- .010 or less, in a manufacturing environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Be able to read blueprints, and follow work orders and verbal instructions.
  • Be familiar with Fanuc controls and CNC programming.
  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policies, safety, and procedures.
  • Must be able to operate an overhead crane.
  • Must be able to operate engine lathes in a production environment.
  • Must be able to operate hand power tools including, but not limited to, hand grinder, hand drill, and other similar equipment.
  • Must be able to read vainer calipers, OD micrometers, ID micrometers, depth gages, and related inspection tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to support other areas of the operations based on business needs.
  • Must have a basic understanding of how CNC equipment operates.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use a vibrating pencil to perform the task of part marking.
  • Must have basic knowledge of the cutting tools used in a machine shop.
  • Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must possess adequate knowledge of safety rules to follow for the safe operation of machine shop equipment.
  • Train new employees to develop their knowledge and skills in the forging process.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to operate a forklift, crane, or other powered industrial equipment.
  • Understand how to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
