Job Profile
The company is seeking a Machine Operator to join its team.
Educational Qualification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Experience
- 2 years of experience in a production environment
- Personal Protection Equipment Training (PPE), Global Harmonization System Training (GHS), Lock Out- Tag Out Training, (LOTO) – Onsite training available
- Tow Motor and Overhead Crane Certification – Onsite training available
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to set up the machinery with proper program and selection of tools
- Corroborate with other team members when needed
- Knowledgeable in die clearance
- Knows all operations and safety procedures of the various sheet metal fabrication machines
- Makes own setups by matching programs to steel and tooling
- Measure parts with tape and calipers and make necessary adjustments to the setup to ensure accuracy
- Operates machinery in a productive manner
- Place miscellaneous sizes of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel on the machines
- Recognizes and informs department Lead, Production Supervisor, or Quality Control of any problems
- Records daily data on routing sheets
- Safely operate tow motor and overhead crane
- Understand prints and set up sheets
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, assembly prints, packing lists, shop orders, and other written correspondence
- Ability to recognize the quality expected and able to reproduce it
- Able to use a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Close attention to detail
- Must have good knowledge of fractions and decimals
- Operates machines in a safe and productive manner
- Understand and follow directions
Work Environment
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a production environment
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
