Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder who will perform a variety of welding functions.

Be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment.

Perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.

Educational Qualification

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Military experience, trade or technical school (preferred)
  • Certified Welder

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication environment or other equivalent experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Be able to move parts in and move finished products out of the welding area.
  • Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter
  • Cleans or de-greases parts
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Full compliance with plant, state, and federal safety regulations and general work rules. Use of proper lock-out procedure and personal protective equipment
  • Maintain, repair, rebuild, and fabricate parts when required for all types of industrial equipment
  • Performs all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding
  • Performs MIG, Arc, and TIG welding, layout, pipefitting, and millwright functions
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections, diagnose equipment problems and performs necessary repairs, and reports findings to supervision
  • Positions and clamps work pieces together or assemble them in jigs or fixtures
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, general arrangement, and sub-component detail drawings
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fill holes
  • Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of the material
  • Tacks assemblies together
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and e-verify
  • Possess a working knowledge of all applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, and OSHA)
  • Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
