Job Profile

The company is recruiting a Manual Machinist who will use lathes, mills, sanders, drills, and other power tools to produce precision parts that meet ANCORP specifications from stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.

Educational Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED (for all job levels)
• Technical School Graduate with a focus on Machining or industry-recognized certification (for all job levels)

Work Experience

All Levels-Must is able to perform the essential functions for the corresponding Level.

• (Level I) 1-2 years of experience
• (Level II) 2-5 years of experience
• (Level III) 5+ years of experience

Duties/Responsibilities

Level I

• Analyze plans, designs, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of machining assignments.
• Capable of working unsupervised for periods of time and accomplishing work in a timely manner.
• Keep the work area clean and clear of hazards.
• Machine a variety of flanges, fittings, and other vacuum parts using lathes and mills, and other equipment to face, turn, groove, drill, tap, etc.
• Measures work to verify conformance to specifications.
• Removes any defects by deburring and polishing.
• Responsible for working in a safe manner, wearing all required safety equipment, and reporting any unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or safety items.
• Sets up and adjusts machine settings as needed. Selects proper work holding, tooling, and machining process sequencing.
• Understand and interpret technical drawings.
• Use of semi-automated processes such as auto feed, and indexing plates.
• Wash and degrease parts as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Level II

Performs the above task and the following-

• Machines complex parts while holding all tolerances including GD&Ts.
• Proficient in threading both internal and external threads in standard and metric sizes.
• Recommendations of supplies and materials to be ordered.
• Perform basic machine upkeep and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Level III

Performs the above task and the following-

• Designs, fabricates, develop fixtures, and assists in first-article recommendations.
• Assist in estimates of material, time, and labor.
• Use of four-jaw chuck to accomplish offset machining tasks and manufacture non-round parts such as cubes.
• Mentors other Manual Machinists to develop their skills and strengthen the team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Knowledge of technical drawings is required.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Able to read, write, and have a working knowledge of English.
• Detail Oriented.
• Experience in reading and understanding, prints, drawings, symbols, and work instructions.
• Knowledge in the use of basic measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
• Manual Dexterity
• Must have basic math/algebra skills.
• Team Player.

Work Environment

• Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work boots.
