Job Profile
The company (Pall) is looking for a CNC Grinder I who will be responsible for performing various types of manual grinding on products and partner with the Production Supervisor to ensure the machine shop meets daily production and quality goals.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) and completed trade school or apprenticeship program, or 2 years of related experience.
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspect and check work using precision measuring equipment, optical flats, micrometers, indicators, etc., and complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers, and data.
- Perform preventive maintenance on grinding equipment.
- Select proper holding devices for work, i.e., chucks, collets, faceplates, vices, sine plates, etc. to set up and perform basic ID (inner diameter), OD (outer diameter), surface grinding to deburr parts during machining operations, and on manual equipment based on blueprints or set-up sheets.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Good knowledge of shop math and familiarity with the use of precision measuring equipment (i.e., optical flats, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
- Work overtime as required. Frequent bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours); frequent lifting up to 35 lbs. from floor to bench; occasional lifting to 50 lbs. Good eye and hand dexterity.
Credible Qualifications
- DBS (Danaher Business System).
- Quality measures, AQL levels, and inspection methods.
- computers, CNC equipment, CNC controls, and tool offsets.
