The company is recruiting a Production Supervisor to join its team.
Education Level
- Degree in management or business discipline (desirable but not required)
Work Experience
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing and production scheduling environment
- Lean experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Attain maximum production in the department by skillful utilization of company resources.
- Determine and communicate component completion dates. Schedule priorities and expedite within the facility on all production shifts.
- Enforce shop safety standards and drive continuous improvement of safety standards.
- Maintain high-quality standards for all products produced in the facility, minimize scrap, and utilize rework procedures when applicable.
- Manage shop employees and equipment to provide our customers with on-time, every time delivery. Provide supervision for various manufacturing departments. Maintain positive employee/management relations.
- Provide leadership and decision-making with the facilities supervisory team.
- Sustain all improvements and Operational excellence tools established.
- Understand and execute all contractual obligations and participate in the preparation of contract negotiations, if applicable.
Key Roles-
- Actively participates in team meetings/project meetings and completes assigned activities as required
- Establish and communicate a daily departmental production plan to hourly employees and supervisors.
- Evaluate and determine standard times for departmental routers, work with Industrial Engineering to keep router records updated, and part costing is accurate.
- Implement and document corrective action to ensure the performance of the facility. This includes daily use of tools such as Velocity, LPM, SAP, Kronos, Electronic Kanban Systems, Electronic Documentation, Performance Management tools, TPM, etc.
- Participate in operational excellence events utilizing lean tools to eliminate waste from the workplace.
- Responsible for driving, promoting, and managing safety in the facility. Works safely and adheres to EHS Best Practices. Uses the Komatsu safety tracking system to track EHS activity. Ensure that safety rules are adhered to and promptly report and investigate all accidents.
- Responsible for identifying and driving change management opportunities for multiple departments within the facility.
- Responsible for the performance management of all hourly employees, including probationary reviews and annual competency reviews.
- Utilize extensive understanding of the shop floor production system to support on-time delivery of product to external and internal customers.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with various levels of the organization.
- Experience and proof of success in managing a job shop
- Proficient with the software used to analyze the operation of equipment

- Fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- May involve standing or walking for long hours
- Must address safety, quality, and workflow issues
- Supervise teams on the production floor
- Work in manufacturing or factory settings
