Job Profile
The company is seeking a CNC Machine Maintenance Technician who will provide mechanical, electrical, and control support to production and development machining and fabrication teams for Starlink. A wide range of machine configurations and OEMs are supported, including 5-axis gantries, 5-axis mill-turn applications, large vertical lathes, horizontal boring machines, spin-forming lathes, water jets, and press brakes.
Responsible for repair, preventative maintenance, and modification of that machinery.
Require collaboration and critical thinking to troubleshoot unique equipment issues and develop quick resolutions in a demanding environment.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalency certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical repair
- 3+ years of experience with one or more of the following CNC control systems: Siemens 840D, Okuma, Fanuc, Heidenhain, Allen Bradley
- 3+ years of maintenance technician experience
- 5+ years of experience as a maintenance technician or field service engineer
- Experience adjusting CNC geometry components, including straightness, squareness, linear accuracy, servo tuning, and tool center point control
- Experience in the application & operation of precision machine tools in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Experience installing, aligning, and commissioning 5-axis machines in an aerospace environment
- Experience operating a forklift and other related inventory equipment
- Experience using Renishaw calibration systems, including XL-80 Laser Interferometer and Ballbar
Duties/Responsibilities
- Drive forklifts and company vehicles
- Maintain and repair all assets to ensure their proper operating condition
- Provide preventative and correct maintenance on various complex CNCs: 5 axes milling, mill turn applications, horizontal and vertical lathes
- Troubleshoot and repair control and electrical system failures involving PLCs, HMIs, servomotors, servo amplifiers, input/output, and field sensors
- Troubleshoot and repair machine tool mechanical systems, including ballscrews, linear rails, guideways, and gearboxes
- Troubleshoot and repair various machine tool hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including actuators, valves, pumps, and filters
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient and effective work environment
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies, quality policies, and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings
- Ability to use power tools and hand tools, as well as heavy equipment
- Ability to write detailed repair reports (advanced MS Office skills)
- An analytical thinker who gets to the root of problems and comes up with permanent solutions to remedy issues
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to demonstrate a high sense of urgency
- Self-motivated and able to work well with others
Work Environment
- Capable of being forklift certified
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed
