Job Profile

The company is hiring an Operations Manager who will be responsible for leading the implementation of world-class operational excellence principles and optimizing daily operations to deliver best-in-class customer experience. The key measures of performance include safety, external and internal quality, on-time delivery, lead time, productivity, and working capital improvements.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • 5 years (minimum), 10 years (preferred) experience leading within a manufacturing environment supporting high mix/low volume product families with a track record for delivering results.
  • Experience in team development – problem solving, conflict resolution, building cooperative relationships, and effective communications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Addresses key business performance challenges. Identifies and prioritizes these challenges based on root cause identification.
  • Builds a strong operations talent base. Partners with human resources to develop talent management strategies.
  • Champions change and drive out waste throughout manufacturing operations.

  • Develop, interpret, apply, and enforce company safety regulations and operating policies and procedures.
  • Drives overall operational excellence through the application of best-in-class operational excellence practices and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality regulations, standards, and corporate policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015, AAR M-1003, TUV, and ASME.
  • Establishes performance goals and objectives for site operations. Provides feedback and corrective action to maintain progress toward the achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Focus on talent and organizational development, an effective succession planning system, and a culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company. Builds a great working environment for the employees. Attracts, develops, retains, and motivates the talent needed to be a world-class, high-performing team.
  • Identify and address manufacturing issues and drive excellence in: SQDC
  • Institute a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Leads daily operations, ensuring customer expectations are consistently satisfied, products and services always meet the quality specifications, and all resources are fully utilized to provide a cost-effective product and service.
  • Manage labor utilization and efficiency within assembly, machining, welding, and support staff.
  • Manages own time and the time of others.
  • Promote good public relations for the Company within the community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Managerial Roles-

  • Coach team on leadership development and assists in creating development and performance evaluations.
  • Creates accountability and leads by example through strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
  • Develops and maintains business metrics to ensure targets are on track
  • Fosters collaborative, cohesive relationships across all areas/departments of the facility
  • Maintains a safety-first culture and drives actions to maintain a safe work environment
  • Oversees staff scheduling and maintains overtime requirements, vacation, and time off requests
  • Provide team performance feedback and recommend salary increases.
  • Uses logical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, analyze information, and choose the best solution and approach to solve problems.
  • Utilizes Positive Employment Relations to ensure workforce concerns are addressed and issues resolved in an effective and timely manner. Ensures communication lines remain open across all levels within the facility.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Demonstrates clear understanding of all tasks and processes within manufacturing, including machining, welding, and assembly.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills. Experience with change management and driving continuous improvement activities.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Knowledge of practical application of engineering, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for the production of various goods.
  • Strong computer literacy. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite and ERP systems (Oracle preferred)

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for several hours per day with occasional sitting.
  • May lift or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift or move 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes to meet minimum safety requirements when walking through or working in the plant area
