Job Profile
The company is looking for a UT Destruct Technician who will verify the integrity of adhesive, welds, and fasteners through the use of Non-Destructive and Destructive methods and follow all SOPs following Kamtek-controlled and documented procedures.
Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of Automotive experience
Duties/Responsibilities
- Able to locate weld numbers using weld maps or Catia.
- Accurately identify adhesive nonconformance.
- Accurately use Ultrasound testing equipment to detect weld quality.
- Identify material thickness using Catia or micrometers
- Perform Hem, Clinch, and Lazer Braze analyses and accurately report results.
- Visually discern potential weld quality and location concerns.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Auto-CAD (preferred)
- Able to distinguish the different types of fasteners used and their respective torque values.
- Able to locate, organize, and report on each test performed in the UT department.
- Able to perform manual destructs, as required.
- Strong mechanical and working knowledge of Manual, Electric, and Pneumatic Hand tools.
- Strong working knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Excel.
Work Environment
- Exposure to noise, heat, and confined spaces
- Irregular hours, including nights or weekends
- Physically demanding, with travel possible
- Requires PPE and strict safety protocols
- Works in industrial or field environments
