Job Profile

The company is looking for a UT Destruct Technician who will verify the integrity of adhesive, welds, and fasteners through the use of Non-Destructive and Destructive methods and follow all SOPs following Kamtek-controlled and documented procedures.

Responsible for supporting safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to KAMTEK’s plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee’s Charter.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of Automotive experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to locate weld numbers using weld maps or Catia.
  • Accurately identify adhesive nonconformance.
  • Accurately use Ultrasound testing equipment to detect weld quality.
  • Identify material thickness using Catia or micrometers
  • Perform Hem, Clinch, and Lazer Braze analyses and accurately report results.
  • Visually discern potential weld quality and location concerns.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Auto-CAD (preferred)
  • Able to distinguish the different types of fasteners used and their respective torque values.
  • Able to locate, organize, and report on each test performed in the UT department.
  • Able to perform manual destructs, as required.
  • Strong mechanical and working knowledge of Manual, Electric, and Pneumatic Hand tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Excel.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to noise, heat, and confined spaces
  • Irregular hours, including nights or weekends
  • Physically demanding, with travel possible
  • Requires PPE and strict safety protocols
  • Works in industrial or field environments
