Job Profile

The company is hiring a Machine Operator II (Stainless Weld) to join its team.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age

Work Experience

  • Must have previous experience working as a Machine Operator I within Stainless Steel.
  • Must have welding experience and knowledge of TIG welding, as would be shown by the passing of a hands-on competency test; the knowledge one might get from a vocational school course (helpful)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing and maintaining scorecards, Gemba Boards, etc., so that performance problems can be identified and resolved.
  • Assists the maintenance team in basic troubleshooting and equipment malfunction diagnostics.
  • Ensures machines are operating at required capacity and that production requirements are met.
  • Maintains equipment and performs preventive maintenance, notifying the Group Leader/Maintenance personnel if the welding machine malfunctions.
  • Monitors the performance of equipment; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems to maintain efficient operations.
  • Observes machine operation to verify the accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance production. Monitors controls of welder (temp, cycle time, amps-volts, etc.)
  • Operates highly complex machinery used in the production process. From prints, adjusts, and tig welds stainless steel shells and components.
  • Performs semi-complex machine set-ups; loads the welder with parts to be welded.
  • Recognizes process upset, both special and common cause, and notifies the appropriate person.
  • Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization.
  • Visually inspects welds to ensure that blueprints, code, and quality standards are met.
  • Performs assembly, packaging, housekeeping, and other related duties as may be assigned by the Group Leader or supervisor.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Must have reading, writing, and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
