Job Profile

The company is searching for a Maintenance Technician who will perform all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant.

Education Level

Education equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from a 2-year College or Technical School, or the equivalent in related work experience.

Work Experience

3 or more years of related experience or training, demonstrating the ability to identify and perform repairs that are needed and to assure the scheduled production run.
Must have experience with the use of forklifts, man-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities.
Must have experience with the performance of lockout/tag out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.
Must have experience with general air pneumatics, including air compressor operation and maintenance, regulator replacement, solenoid valve replacement, 2-way and 3-way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and general system troubleshooting.

License/Certification

Boiler, welding, or Electrical Certification (helpful)
Driver’s License
Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) certification

Duties/Responsibilities

Air pollution control devices, including baghouses, evaporative coolers, acid absorbers, and carbon beds.
Ensures that repairs are performed properly in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
Fire tube boiler and ancillary equipment, steam delivery systems, water softeners and other water treatment equipment, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.
General air pneumatics, including air compressors, regulators, solenoid valves, 2-way and 3-way valves, tubing installation, pneumatic pumps, and related systems.
Incinerator process equipment/systems maintenance, including burners, CEMs, high temperature refractory, controls, PLC, combustion air blowers, pressure controls, and conveyance systems.
Performs any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure a safe, clean, healthy, and efficient facility and vigorously supports Stericycle’s commitment to Safety. Documents results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.
Performs diagnostic evaluations on equipment and makes necessary repairs.
Performs light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment to include 480V/240V/120V/24V power systems.
Performs preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance daily on a variety of machinery within the plant. This machinery includes:
PLC and light robotics troubleshooting and maintenance experience helpful.
Steam turbine and electrical generator systems.
Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Demonstrates the ability to use all power tools associated with metal machining to include: power drills, chop saws, reciprocating saws, grinders, and pneumatic hammers.
Knowledge of how to maintain a hydraulic system and the ability to read hydraulic flow diagrams (preferred)
Must be able to use soldering/brazing torches and acetylene torches for cutting steel. Must be able to use a welder to fuse carbon steel and perform repairs.
The ability to weld stainless steel or higher alloys and to operate a TIG welder (a plus)
