Job Profile

The company is hiring a CNC Lathe Programmer who will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for lathe and Mill-turn machines to produce precision components, primarily for aerospace and defense applications.

Requires expertise in using Siemens NX software, along with a deep understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality standards.

Education Level

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming, up to 5-axis experience.
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or medical industries (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with Siemens 840D, Fanuc, and Mazak controls
  • Mill-turn experience (a plus)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality checks on finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with part specifications.
  • Create and optimize CNC Lathe programs using Siemens NX CAM software to produce complex aerospace and defense components.
  • Create, read, and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models, ensuring clear communication of machining requirements.
  • Ensure all machining operations comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Generate documentation to set up CNC lathe machines, perform test runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specified quality and tolerance standards.
  • Interpret and analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations and sequences.
  • Maintain accurate records of CNC programs, machine setups, modifications, and test results.
  • Oversee CNC operators, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling for each job and design/create custom fixtures when necessary
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job, ensuring machine capabilities align with part specifications.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies to improve production efficiency and quality.
  • Work closely with engineers, machinists, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues and improve machining processes.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of precision and quality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize machining operations.
  • Experience in creating and optimizing complex CNC programs for precision machining.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality control standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Software Proficiency-

  • Proficient in Siemens NX CAM software
  • Working knowledge of CATIA V5
  • Familiarity with any other CAD/CAM software (a plus)

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, machinery, and potential hazards, while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Full-time position with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support sister manufacturing sites.
