Job Profile

The company is hiring an Aircraft Composite Fabrication Specialist who will assist with multiple areas of the 787 production system.

Responsible for identifying their work locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting intricate drawings to complete detailed work instructions accurately.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (credible)

Work Experience

  • 3+ years of CNC experience
  • 3+ years of Crane Operations experience
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics, and diagrams in aviation.
  • 3+ years of experience with conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic, and hand tools.
  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6+ months of experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power, or pneumatic (air) tools.
  • 6+ months of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, or other specialized computer applications.
  • 6+ months of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • Ability to obtain CNC Experience.
  • Experience with conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic, and hand tools

License/Certification

  • Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to adhere to high standards of safety and quality.
  • Carrying and lifting up to 10-35 pounds
  • Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting),
  • Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Ensure your work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ), and is free from Foreign Object Debris.
  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).
  • Flexion extension (head bent down, head leaned back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, and walking.
  • Look up, read, and comprehend technical work instructions, drawings, or specifications.
  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).
  • Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings, or documents.
  • Use computers and software applications in a production environment.
  • Use various hand tools.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment determined by the task you are performing.
  • Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g., circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as: flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).

Work Environment

  • Ability to carry and lift up to 10-35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals.
  • Ability to work a variable shift.
