Job Profile

The company is looking for a Welder/Car Repair who will be responsible for measuring, straightening, fit-up, torch cutting, and welding various types and sizes of metal as well as basic repairs to the railcars.

Applicants will need to complete a pre-employment physical including respirator clearance to enable repairs to both the inside and outside of the railcars.

Educational Qualification

• Applicants require a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Work Experience

• Possess work-related experience (preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of car repair and maintenance including measuring, straightening, fit-up, torch cutting, and welding of various types and sizes of metal
• Must pass the applicable welding tests as required
• Other assigned duties may entail (if specifically, trained and qualified) touch-up paint, caulking, operating cut-off saws, forklifts, mobile switch engines, overhead and portable cranes

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Must be able to pass a Company skill assessment test

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface
• Must be able to pass alcohol and drug testing
• Must be able to pass Company physical exam
• Must be able to pass vision acuity test
• Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to the standing position
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Must be able to work in confined spaces

• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future
