Job Profile

The company is seeking a Welder who will be responsible for repairing and maintaining site structures and equipment in a shop or field environment.

The position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have a Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson’s Welder Certification
  • B Pressure welding ticket (an asset)

Work Experience

  • Possess previous mining experience (an asset)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Conduct inspections on mining equipment and structures and perform preventative maintenance as needed
  • Grind, gouge and repair cracks in haul truck bodies, shovel buckets, dozer blades, and other mining equipment
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate site structures and equipment in all areas of active mining, mine maintenance, and processing
  • Provide innovative solutions and best practices
  • Use the following welding processes: FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Work cohesively with other tradespeople

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license
