Job Profile

The company is seeking a Waterjet Operator who will be responsible for performing required operations on Waterjet machines effectively and efficiently by loading, securing, and unloading hardware while appropriately inspecting hardware for non-conformance.

The position will report to the Waterjet Operations Manager.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (documentation required)

Work Experience

  • Possess experience operating a waterjet machine (preferred)
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent (preferred)
  • FAA Testing and Training Mandatory

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Communicate with others in a clear and cohesive manner to perform all duties
  • Complete necessary checks and preventative maintenance of machines/equipment
  • Contribute towards the achievement of cell goals
  • Determine whether an adjustment is required as related to inspection results, tool changes, setup, or hardware placement
  • Diagnose and communicate any machine, hardware, or process-related issues
  • Ensure all features on gauges or fixtures are secure and functioning
  • Load hardware and shim check appropriately
  • Monitor and maintain abrasive levels as needed
  • Notify necessary personnel when documentation may require modification
  • Remove and replace worn tools
  • Respond appropriately to machine issues
  • Secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and hardware on the machine using hand tools
  • Select the correct equipment and materials per the instructions provided
  • Use precision-measuring instruments to verify the accuracy of inspection tools, quality of hardware, or machine set-ups
  • Verify all serial numbers on the hardware match the serial numbers on the travelers
  • Verify relevant documentation is completed per internal procedures
  • Verify that hardware is handled and stored properly
  • Adhere to all quality standards
  • Perform other duties as required

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Be able to follow written and verbal directions in English
  • Must be able to communicate information to others verbally and in writing in English
  • Must be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Must have an understanding of the machining process
  • Must have basic addition and subtraction skills involving whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • Must maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)- documentation required

Work Environment

  • Perform skillful and coordinated movement of arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, place, move, or assemble objects.
  • Must lift or move 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must stand for long periods of time or bend over when working in machines.
  • Will need the ability to move throughout the facility.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect small details in order to recognize nonconformance of hardware (natural or corrected).
  • Must be able to wear the required personal protective equipment and use proper lifting techniques for loading hardware, consumables, and fixtures.
