Job Profile
The company is recruiting a Welding Engineer (a senior-level position) who will represent the attainment of specialized knowledge in breadth and depth.

Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Welding/Robotics Engineering or equivalent, CWI, CWE
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess a minimum of 8 or more years of related technical, hands-on experience in automated and manual welding processes
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures, etc.)
- Assist in the development of the weld quality control process
- Assist in the integration, start-up, and debugging of plant floor welding equipment
- Assist the Quality Assurance department in maintaining weld integrity. Interface with manufacturing and maintenance to resolve welding and welding system issues
- Assist with MRO crib activities
- Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify individual usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all the work team
- Champion assigned engineering changes, communicate and coordinate accordingly with all departments
- Direct or participate in root cause analysis and team problem-solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.)
- Guides design, develops, and tests welding methods, materials, processes, and results
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the plant
- Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurables to support the departmental goals
- Recommend and develop preventative maintenance procedures for all plant welding equipment including robotic systems. Evaluate processes and procedures to maintain or improve weld parameters and weld efficiency
- Responsible for adhering to all OSHA-required safety procedures in performing daily work activities
- Specify welding equipment, welding consumables, electrical and mechanical systems, robotic systems, and any related components associated with the welding process
- Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality registration (TS 16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Support project engineering on new and existing programs
- Support the Company’s mission, vision, and values in the performance of daily activities
- Train, coach, and mentor the welding process for weld engineers, manufacturing, and skilled trades colleagues
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Excellent “hands-on” welding and training skills
- Knowledge in robotic programming (ex. ABB, Fanuc robots, etc.)
- Knowledge in robotic welding and material handling applications
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and weld drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality, and workflow
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA and machine safety, electrical safety, robotic safety, and machine guarding components; high level of safety awareness in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of electrical/controls circuitry and schematics
- Working knowledge of MIG and Projection welding processes
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills
- Specialized knowledge of the following-
-Weld power source, wire feeder, torch, and reamer
-Customer welding specifications and testing requirements
-Electrical enclosures and power requirements for welding
-Gas metal arc welding
-Plasma cutting, grinding, and rework applications
-Weld shielding gas technologies
