Job Profile

The company (Cooper Tire, a Goodyear company) is searching for a CNC Machinist/Operator who will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple machine types to produce precision parts.

These machines would include 5-axis engraving machines and Vertical Turning Lathes.

Knowledge of Heidenhain, Makino Pro6, HAAS, and Fanuc controllers (preferred)

Educational Qualification

• Applicants should have an Associate’s Degree or Certification from a college or university

Work Experience

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience operating 5-axis machines
• Previous experience operating CNC machining equipment and CAM programming or completed trade school or an apprenticeship in machining
• Welding experience
• Proven experience as a Machinist or Operator
• Experience doing machine changeovers
• Experience operating CNC machines

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ability to read and interpret machining blueprints
• Proficient with loading and editing programs
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and Faro inspection equipment
• Proficient with setting up and changing out tooling on CNC machines

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong math skills
• Physical strength to lift heavy parts

Work Environment

• It is a climate-controlled and ISO certified
