Job Profile
The company is searching for a Production Leadhand who will be responsible for assisting the supervisor with ensuring continuous production flow by communicating problems in welding areas to Q.A. or Maintenance.
Also, acts as a backup Forklift driver, inventory controller, or other capacities as required.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Diploma/Graduation or Equivalent
Work Experience
- Possess work-related experience (a plus)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Alert the Maintenance department to any welding operation concerns.
- Back up for Operator during quick breaks (bathroom, training, HR)
- Back-up forklift truck driver if necessary
- Collect production counts and verify CMS input prior to forwarding it to the supervisor.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction activities.
- Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna, and P&F rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Have the authority to stop production for quality reasons.
- Keep the work area neat and tidy.
- Maintain weld integrity of parts produced.
- Make minor adjustments to weld equipment.
- Material handling.
- Record in downtime logbook problems and length of time down.
- Repair or sort parts if needed.
- Supply First-Off to Q.A. department for weld destruct.
- Through Magna’s Employee Charter.
- Tip changes.
- Train and instruct employees in the operation of equipment on-the-job training.
- Update and maintain team performance boards
- Perform any other duties as requested.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Able to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
- Able to work effectively within a team environment
- Certified Forklift Truck Driver
- Complete knowledge of welding equipment
- Good oral and written English skills
- Must be dependable
- Must be safety conscious
