Job Profile

The company (Magna, Eagle Bend Manufacturing) is recruiting a Die Setter Technician for the Stamping Department to set stamping tools and dies for JIT (Just-in-Time) production runs in a variety of stamping presses.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should have some machine shop education (diploma/degree) would be helpful

Work Experience

  • Possess 2 to 4 years of experience (required)
  • Punch Press Operator experience
  • Prior machine operation experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in achieving a quality First Off part
  • Continuously improve set-up conditions and minimize machine downtime
  • Coordinate Press Operator and Press Assistant activities to orchestrate successful changeovers
  • Individuals in this position should seek out ways to improve the work process, quality, or safety by submitting Continuous Improvement suggestions
  • Perform basic tool and equipment repairs as required
  • Set up press tooling and conveyors as determined by production schedules
  • Work in a preventative maintenance mode

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Equipment/Tools

  • Forklift and overhead crane
  • T-stand with palm buttons, material feeders

Working Conditions

  • 100% visual inspection of tooling
  • Ability to move throughout the plant
  • Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending; stooping and crawling; reaching to access parts in dies
  • Gross and fine motor skills required
  • Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
  • Pushing and pulling in excess of 40 lbs.
