The company is searching for an Accurate Floor Grid Machine Operator who will be at the forefront of precision engineering, utilizing advanced technology to execute critical machining processes.
Contribute to the efficient setup and operation of drilling machines, ensuring that each component is meticulously prepared to meet stringent quality standards.
Interpret technical specifications, perform detailed inspections, and collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and enhance productivity.
Education Level
- High School Graduate or GED (preferred)
Work Experience
- 1+ years of experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- 1+ years of experience operating 3-axis NC/CNC machine tools
- 1+ years of experience with any of the following: power-feed drilling, hand drilling, drill equipment, drill bits, cutters, cutter design, drill bushings, and/or drill nosepieces
- 1+ years of experience with various types of handheld power tools
- Experience with either Siemens, Fanuc, or Mazatol controllers
Duties/Responsibilities
- Contact other organizations for machine maintenance and repairs as required.
- Execute mechanical tasks necessary to support the timely completion of assignments.
- Initiate corrective action requests for machine malfunctions, detecting faulty tools, and implementing solutions.
- Inspect setups and finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical documents, and specifications to guide machining processes.
- Load, position, index, and secure work-holding devices and components on single-axis positioning tables for efficient machining.
- Perform necessary rework within designated work areas to meet quality standards.
- Provide relevant information to supervision and shop personnel to facilitate workflow and communication.
- Select, check, adjust, and install various hand and power tools to maintain effective control of machining media.
- Set up and operate numerically controlled drilling machines for hole preparation, including drilling and counter-sinking of floor grid structures.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to perform and verify work assignments accurately.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Work Environment
- Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
- Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
- Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
- Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs. to 15-35 lbs.
- Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
- Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
