Job Profile
The company is looking for a Welding Engineer Associate who will oversee and maintain new processes and products for welding suspension components for the facility.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Welding or Metallurgical Engineering from a college/university (preferred)
Work Experience
- Possess experience in a manufacturing facility (preferred)
- Experience in justification and procurement of capital equipment (preferred)
- Experience in tooling/fixturing design (preferred)
- Experience in welding procedure specification development (preferred)
- Experience with process development and A.P.Q.P. (preferred)
- Experience with Uni-Graphics or AutoCAD (preferred)
- D. & T and ISO/QS9000 experience (preferred)
- Metallurgical/material science experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and maintaining welding process control activities for robotic GMAW Systems.
- Assist in managing projects that will affect the organization
- Assist in Managing the A.P.Q.P. process associated with launching new processes.
- Assurance that all applicable quality and safety standards are met for new and existing products.
- Design and development of fabrication processes to support production demands.
- Design, procurement, and implementation of fabrication, welding, and assembly systems, including all necessary documentation.
- Evaluate existing product designs/processes and make improvements regarding cost and quality
- Evaluate new product concepts and designs and provide input regarding manufacturability and cost.
- Installation and launch of new production processes into various manufacturing facilities.
- Perform conceptual process definition for new products to evaluate design alternatives.
- Perform failure analysis on prototype fabrications.
- Perform manufacturing/product cost analysis and capacity evaluation.
- Support production and engineering with product launches
