Job Profile

The company is hiring an Automation Technician who will provide production support by performing setup, troubleshooting, and operations of automated welding cells within a production facility, as well as implementing best practices and proactively assessing welding/robotic applications, as well as mentor Auto Technician I and Auto Technician trainees.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma (credible)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Work Experience

  • Possess work-related experience (a plus)

License/Certification

  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-offer Auto Tech I and II testing
  • Within 6 months to a year must successfully obtain a qualification card.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency in troubleshooting using electrical/mechanical prints
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols while servicing or maintaining equipment
  • Intermediate weld troubleshooting for all welding applications (drawn arc, GMAW, resistance welding, projection welding, Pneumatic systems, etc.)
  • Mentor Automation Technician level I members, as well as Weld Technicians
  • Perform, train, and critique equipment preventative maintenance
  • Modify and perform basic programming tasks of robots in all robotic applications-
  • Basic Teach Pendant Programming
  • TCP Verification
  • I/O Simulation
  • Move Creation/Modification
  • Use electrical system knowledge and electrical schematics/prints to troubleshoot electrical components and circuits (Connecting circuit breakers, transformers, or other components in a junction box or panel): Basic Level w/Electrician Assistance
  • Wiring harnesses
  • Drive systems
  • Relays
  • Boards
  • Motors

Work Environment

  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours a day and be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
