The company is looking to hire a CNC Machinist to join its team.

Educational Qualification

  • Applicants should be a High School Graduate or Equivalent

Work Experience

  • Possess working knowledge of CNC techniques normally acquired through post-high school coursework or 1-2 years of hands-on experience

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all safety policies
  • Assists with training of others
  • Complete all required training applicable to the assigned position
  • Create minor programs for all machines, except for the Hurco machine
  • Effectively uses computerized Information Center to retrieve product/process information
  • Effectively uses Smart Team Application to verify prints and revision levels
  • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Interprets mechanical drawings and blueprints received from supervisor or engineering
  • Maintains safety and housekeeping standards in accordance with 5 S principles
  • Operates all machines in a department such as the CNC, drills, buffers/grinders, etc. without assistance
  • Performs predictive/preventative maintenance as necessary
  • Provides written suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Responsible for the quality of the finished product
  • Sets up all CNC fixtures and tooling for each specified job, except for the Hurco machine
  • Strict compliance with FDA and ISO control standards and record keeping
  • Visually inspects material during the machining process to prevent defects and scrap

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to be cross-trained
  • Ability to communicate basic information regarding processes and quality-related questions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8-12 hours
  • Ability to work overtime with little or no notice
  • Assists with altering programs so tools and parts are running properly
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Bending, twisting, or squatting may be required
  • Demonstrated ability to cart up jobs for all machines
  • Demonstrated ability to create minor programs
  • Demonstrated ability to make minor program changes to ensure product quality
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, gauges, and measuring equipment proficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to set up custom fixture jobs on all machines
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow work instructions
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated flexibility in attitude and willingness to work in all areas as needed
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible to perform a variety of tasks
  • Knowledge of proper problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of quality standards to apply visual inspection
  • Must have the physical ability and manual dexterity necessary to perform the duties pertaining to the job
  • Must have a thorough understanding of quality systems and their relationship to job performance including ISO Overview, corrective/preventative actions, and work instructions
  • Understanding of tools and tool offsets
