Job Profile

The company is seeking a CNC Machinist III who will set up and operate CNC to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, facing, and threading parts such as castings, forgings, and bar stock by performing the following duties.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

  • Experience in industrial manufacturing

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ability to multitask and run multiple machines simultaneously
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Complete ERP transactions and load CNC programs using a computer
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures while actively participating to create a Zero Harm culture at work and at home
  • Load material including bronze, stainless steel, and plastics up to 7” diameter
  • Maintain working knowledge of G & M codes
  • Participate in the daily preventative maintenance and cleaning schedule
  • Prioritize daily work to ensure customer delivery is met
  • Properly complete the required paperwork
  • Review manufacturing drawings and verify product specification using measuring equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, and CMM
  • Set up the CNC machine including selecting jaws, setting work, changing tools, touching-off tools, inspecting and changing inserts, loading the correct program, and adjusting tool offsets
  • Verify measuring equipment calibration daily
  • Verify proper machine operation, including speeds & feeds, tool wear, and surface finish

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Diffuses high-tension situations effectively and communicates with diplomacy and tact
  • Looks for opportunities to help or serve other departments
  • Look for solutions versus blame
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards team members and the organization
  • Reinforces others’ efforts and meets commitments to the team

Work Environment

  • Exposure to noise, lubricants, and metal shavings
  • Follows strict safety and precision standards
  • May work shifts, including nights or weekends
  • Requires standing for long periods
  • Works in a machine shop or manufacturing facility
