Job Profile
The company is searching for a CNC Operator II who will learn to assist in the set-up of simple jobs and operation of CNC equipment, tooling maintenance, and ensuring that all required processes are completed to produce parts that meet quality and ISO standards. Learn to operate CMM.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should have a High School Graduate or Equivalent
Work Experience
- Possess previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Functions-
- Assure all policies and procedures are followed and safety precautions are taken to reduce the risk of injury.
- Complete essential documentation, as required.
- Learn set-ups of simple (uncomplicated and straightforward) jobs and operate conventional, special-purpose, and computerized numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts and fits and assemble machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machineability of materials, and layout techniques. Able to run multiple machines at one time.
- Learn to check for machine readiness to ensure functionality and performance.
- Learn to fit and assemble parts into a complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plates, surface tables, hand tools, and power tools.
- Learn to measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining.
- Learn to select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and tooling pre-setter.
- Learn to verify the conformance of finished work pieces to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Learn to verify dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
- Maintain a clean work area and assure the safe operation of all equipment.
- Perform and document Operator Preventative Maintenance operations, as needed.
- Review and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements.
Occasional Duties-
- Assist Manufacturing Engineer
- Assist production in all areas
- Assist with tooling/fixturing build
- Occasionally, miscellaneous non-recurring duties may be assigned such as, but not limited to, packing, shipping, unpacking and sorting, inspection, cleaning, finishing, deburring, etc.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Problem-solving skills preferred
- Works under the direct supervision
Physical Demands
- Occasionally required throughout the workday to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to see print in various sizes and formats.
- May be required to climb stairs.
- Must regularly be able to pull and push up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Work performed in a production environment
- Exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time (for maintenance/receiving only)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high, in some areas
