Job Profile
The company is looking for a CNC Programmer who will be responsible for independently operating and managing CNC machining equipment. The duties include loading, testing, and troubleshooting of CNC programming, complex machining, and routine inspection and maintenance to ensure all quality regulations are met.
Help oversee overall CNC machining operations, while also escalating issues that require support from the supervisor and providing coaching and training to other team members.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or GED or related experience or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC machining/programming
- Haas Controller Experience (required)
Duties/Responsibilities
- Coach and train other team members; participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Design and fabricate tools and parts out of various metals (including aluminum, cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, and PEEK), plastics, and synthetic materials.
- Ensure parts are machined to meet production goals, including cycle time, quantity, and quality. Lead start of shift meetings to ensure the team is aware of and aligned with daily objectives.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Perform daily 6S activities to ensure organization and cleanliness of the work area.
- Perform daily maintenance on CNC machinery. Conduct routine inspection and replace worn-out tooling as needed.
- Perform in-process inspection of machine parts to ensure manufacturing adherence to all quality regulations. Measure and check dimensions and tolerances using measuring devices, including (but not limited to) calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Conduct CMM inspections as needed to ensure the product meets design specifications.
- Perform necessary transactions in the ERP system to maintain accurate inventory
- Perform root cause analysis for machine part non-conformities; identify and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto CNC machines. Handle materials appropriately and safely.
- Read and interpret advanced-level blueprints and drawings to determine precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of complex machine parts.
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines; ensure proper fixtures are installed and utilized per setup instructions. Verify settings by measuring positions, first run part, and sample workpieces.
- Write and modify CNC programming; test programming to ensure it functions correctly and troubleshoot as needed. Set zero/reference points and tool offsets.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Proficiency in math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals
- Quality assurance experience required
- Strong skills in operating precision measurement tools
- Strong understanding of CNC G-codes and M-codes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Must be authorized to work in the US
Work Environment
- Required to wear safety glasses and shoes, and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the production floor
- Shop floor working environment

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
