Job Profile
The company is seeking a CNC Router Operator who will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating the CNC router.
Promotes safe practices while operating the router to achieve an exceptional cut of material appropriately.
Education Level
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a fabrication/production role
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ability to use equipment to position tools and work pieces with each other
- Determines the sequence of operations
- Observes the operation of the machine and verifies conformance of the machined workpiece to specifications
- Positions and secures workpiece holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures
- Reads blueprint and/or job order for product specifications, including dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speed, and depth of cut
- Selects, positions, and secures the tool in the tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post)
- Sets specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Proficiency in producing parts using CNC machinery
- Proficiency in using standard fabrication and warehouse equipment
- Ability to apply reasonable understanding to carry out detailed instructions and solve problems involving different variables.
Work Environment
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Certain areas of the work environment may have elevated noise levels and require hearing protection.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, and talk or hear.
- Regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
