Job Profile
The company is looking to hire a CNC Setup Operator who will be responsible for the operation of automatic CNC spring coiling machines and manual spring coiling machines to manufacture springs.
The training for this opportunity will be on the 2nd shift, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm for approximately six (6) months. After training is completed, the opportunity to move to the 1st shift will be available.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants should a High School Degree or GED
- Trade School Certification
Work Experience
- Possess 2 or more years of experience using a coiling machine or equivalent machine operation and setup.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Adjusts machine to attain specified tolerances.
- Manufactures a first-piece sample(s) for product conformance.
- Review blueprints to determine setup procedures to follow, machine attachments required for production, and stock to use or obtain details from setup charts.
- Selects required machine attachments, such as taper cams, wire size block, coiling point, pitch toll, and cutting tool according to blueprint or setup chart and installs on the machine.
- Sets cams, turnbuckle, and pitch tools to control spring dimensions.
- Verifies wire diameter with a micrometer or caliper and threads the wire.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
- Ability to use a variety of precision measuring devices.
- Attendance and punctuality are critical due to production schedules.
- Attention to detail.
- Communication skills.
- Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Teamwork that contributes to maintaining a positive team spirit.
- Understanding of production procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Repetitive movements.
- Required to stand for 6 hours or longer.
- Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, peripheral and depth perception.
- Usage of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
